Pool & Jacuzz i Spring water that comes from 3km away fills the pool, itcontains a minimal quantity of chlorine to protect your safety. Sunbeds and shades are at your disposal. The Jacuzzi has a constant temperature of 39º(in the summer 34º) and in the evening it is a good place to be beneath the 1000-stars ceiling, the smell of herbs and a glass of red wine. The Quinta The Quinta covers ¾ hectare and has different terraces and a lawn for sunbathing. Apart of the garden is used for cultivating ecological vegetables that we use for our kitchen. Our Laranjal furnishes sweet oranges and in springtime there are cherries, apricots, plums and figs. The fruit trees offer many shadow spots where one can sit in peace and tranquillity. Near the patio is a BBQ and an outside kitchen for the guests to use. Gastronomy The Portuguese kitchen has a great variety and is mainly based on the use of fresh ingredients. Monchique is famous for its traditional presunto (air cured ham), black pork and home made sausages. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, soft goat cheese and spicy Azoren-cheese, yogurt, ham or salami, free-range eggs,fresh baked bread, Marmalade and homemade fruit compote and freshly pressed orange juice. Surroundings The old town of Monchique is 8km away from us. Silves, the ancient Moorish capital of the Algarve is at half an hour drive and worth a visit. The well-known beaches with sandstone cliffs are also half an hour away while the dynamic West coast is a little bit further but such a pleasure and beauty. The mountains of the Serra de Monchique, are always green, the western part(Foia) is more developed and has therefore more buildings, from the highest point you have a wonderful view of the Algarve and Alentejo. Casa Spa d’Alma is situated in the Eastern part(Picota) which is more authentic with many hiking trails and a beautiful flora and fauna. At 300 meters from Spa d’Alma you will find the sleepy village of Alferce.
